Mission:
Databricks is seeking a passionate leader with in-depth SAAS knowledge and a strong customer-centric mindset to lead our global revenue recognition accounting function. This high visibility position, reporting to our Senior Director, Order to Cash and Revenue, will play a pivotal role in supporting Databricks’ strong growth and driving a scalable and efficient operation. This position will be responsible for our revenue accounting and reporting, as well as providing technical revenue accounting guidance in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Company policies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, a great communicator who thrives in a dynamic fast-paced environment and will take ownership of the month-end, quarterly and year-end close process, revenue related financial reporting and analytics, as well building and maintaining an effective internal control environment. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key leadership role in a high growth organization building and scaling the revenue recognition function, business transformation, automation, process improvement, supporting infrastructure and developing a best-in-class team.

 The impact that you will have:
- Mentor, train and develop a best in class Revenue Accounting team to ensure the Company’s revenue recognition accounting results are accurate and in compliance with ASC 606, US GAAP, and our internal accounting policies
- Lead the global month-end and quarter-end revenue close and reporting process, including the review of key controls, reconciliations and manage all order to cash/revenue related audit requirements
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset for process efficiency and partner with business stakeholders, Revenue Transformation, and IT to facilitate automation and efficiency
- Partner with Order-to-Cash cross functional teams (Revenue Operations, Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, FP&A and AR) to ensure all fully executed agreements are properly booked and recognized in our systems to ensure accuracy in quarterly reporting & metrics
- Participate in the development of internal controls and SOX adoption efforts, and ensure Sarbanes-Oxley requirements are met for relevant areas
- Act as a subject matter expert in accounting for usage-based SaaS contracts, related support, professional services and education
- Provide analysis and support for general financial operations, forecasting, as well as other special projects to support key internal initiatives and reporting deliverablesÂ
- Collaborate with senior leadership on all revenue recognition matters, present revenue recognition topics on occasion to Executive Leadership and the Audit Committee

What we look for:
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience at either a Big 4 public accounting firm or a global, publicly traded high-tech organization with a minimum of 5 years in a revenue role
- Minimum of 4 years in a leadership/management position in a revenue accounting organization with a demonstrated ability and track record of success in driving change and improving operations
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required. CPA or equivalent business experience is required
- Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in proper revenue accounting processes under current revenue recognition for enterprise software and SAAS arrangements (“ASC 606”) and US GAAP
- Experience with Salesforce and subscription billing platforms is strongly preferred Experience with system implementations or significant enhancements a plus
- Demonstrated ability to interact with and influence management and contributors at all levels of the organization and across functions
- A proven leader in training and developing high-performing teams; a proactive leader and effective coach committed to the development and engagement of their team
- Ability to respond to, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest of standards for completeness and accuracy
- Strong technical, analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research accounting literature and simplify complex situations
- Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment with ability to adapt to change
- Usage-based SaaS contract experience a strong plus
