Overview:
The Director of Sales Operations is a critical role for the organization, responsible for strategically assessing systems, reporting, and process, and continually driving process improvement. This role will work very closely with sales leadership to establish ongoing reporting, provide analysis and advise on strategic direction of the commercial organization. It will own our CRM, Salesforce, including serving as it’s administrator for 80+ users, creation of dashboards and reporting, as well as ongoing cleanup and development as-needed. This role will have one direct report and one indirect report. The selected candidate for this role will posses strong analytical-, organizational- and problem-solving skillsets as well as be confident in challenging existing processes where needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create data-driven processes and leads and provide strategic insights and direction to the commercial team
- This role will be the driving force behind a range of business critical projects, process improvement initiatives and tactical execution of Sales Operations
- Work very closely with our SVP’s of Sales, Client Success, Marketing and Finance to execute on key initiatives and areas for improvement
- Build and manage dashboards and reporting on sales performance metrics, top-down and bottom-up forecasting, benchmarks, trends and ad-hoc analyses
- Serve as a system administrator for the Salesforce.com environment with 80+ users
- Coordinate the evaluation, scope and completion of new development requests
- Effectively act as the liaison between our users, vendors and other internal teams to develop best-in-class solutions to day-to-day challenges.
- Demonstrated experience using data and reporting to identify sales forecasts, performance and productivity metrics, and opportunities to improve the sales function
- The Director will manage all contracts and provide pricing, and administrative support to ensure a smooth, frictionless sales process through closure.
- Lead the Proposal desk including the Lead Proposal Writer as a direct report
- Work with the SVP of Sales, and occasionally the CEO, to prepare reporting for ongoing Board presentations
- This is a highly visible position that will have a direct impact on the success of the organization and will present ongoing recommendations to the Senior- and Executive leadership teams
- The Director will contribute to the generation of target prospecting and sales cycle comprehension, CRM roadmap and sales analytics activities
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field; proven industry experience will be acceptable in lieu of degree
- Minimum five years of experience as a Salesforce administrator
- Sales Cloud, Service Cloud and Developer certifications preferred
- com Admin (ADM201 and ADM211) certified a plus
- Strong analytic-, organizational- and problem-solving skills
- Experience managing sales pipelines and experience working with sales leadership
- High level understanding of financial metrics and strategy
- Proven ability to design and implement new processes and facilitate user adoption
- Strong understanding of customer relationship management platforms, with the ability to build custom apps and objects, formula fields, workflows, custom views, and other content of intermediate complexity
- A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
- A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
- A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
- Ability to independently identify, research and resolve issues
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who can work with minimal amount of supervision
- Work authorization required
