Director, SEO

About the role

As the Director, SEO at Angi, you will drive enterprise SEO strategy and execution across the organization. You will grow and lead a team of technical SEOs and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal organic search performance that results in higher search visibility, increased organic traffic, and improved business results.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for technical SEO initiatives, prioritizing high-impact projects that align with overall business objectives and drive measurable results
• Lead and manage a team of SEO experts, setting clear goals and expectations, providing ongoing feedback and support, and facilitating team development
• Collaborate with UX, design, and content teams to create a holistic approach to website optimization, considering both search engine visibility and user satisfaction
• Proactively identify new technical SEO opportunities, assessing their potential value to the business and incorporating them into the strategic roadmap
• Establish and maintain a strong culture of data-informed decision making, experimentation, and continuous improvement within the SEO team.
• Drive prioritization and resourcing for SEO efforts, demonstrating the business value and outcomes of each initiative, including diverting resources from the team's projects when necessary
• Establish and enforce clear, quantifiable OKRs, success metrics, and performance benchmarks, ensuring that they align with overall company objectives and drive business results
• Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing with the team and across the business, encouraging continuous learning and improvement in SEO expertise
• Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and industry developments, and use this knowledge to inform and guide our ongoing SEO efforts.

Who you are

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience (preferred in quantitative field such as computer science/engineering, mathematics, economics, or statistics)  
• 8+ years of proven success in scaling enterprise SEO (i.e. sites with millions of URLs)
• 5+ years of experience leading a high-performance SEO teams
• 2+ years of in-house experience working in SEO with product teams  
• Demonstrated track record taking ownership, thinking strategically, and delivering organic growth in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• History of collaboration and willingness to roll-up one's sleeves to get the job done
• Sophisticated knowledge of front-end website coding principles and technologies, and their SEO implications, including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX, DNS, robots, etc
• Ability to leverage advanced workflows for identifying opportunities at scale (such as APIs, SQL, Python, and advanced Excel functions)
• Strong background in web analytics including Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics
• database records)
• Experience leveraging enterprise SEO crawling tools (ex. Botify, Lumar and/or onCrawl)
• Familiarity using enterprise SEO rank tracking tools (ex. Nozzle, STAT, Conductor, BrightEdge, and/or SEOClarity)

Compensation & Benefits

• The salary band for this position ranges from $165,000-210,000, commensurate with experience and performance. Compensation may vary based on factors such as cost of living.
• This position will be eligible for a competitive year end performance bonus and equity package
