DoD Data Operations Lead

cBEYONData is seeking a Department of Defense (DoD) Data Operations Lead to support our team in a techno-functional role on the Financial Management Improper Payments Detection product. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Databricks, DoD Financial Management processes—especially Accounts Payable—and hands-on experience with DoD entitlement and ERP systems. Proficiency in SQL is required, and Python experience is highly preferred. This individual will demonstrate adaptability, innovative problem-solving skills, and a readiness to excel in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Management Expertise:
  
  • Provide functional expertise in DoD Financial Management processes with a strong focus on Accounts Payable operations.
  • Understand and support entitlement processes related to systems like MOCAS, NERP, and DAI.
• Technical Support and Development:
  
  • Design and implement data workflows using Databricks for FM platform-related tasks.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Utilize Python (preferred) for advanced data manipulation, automation, and visualization.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within the FM ecosystem, ensuring process efficiency and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with development teams to bridge functional requirements and technical implementation.
• Process Improvement and Solution Design:
  
  • Analyze existing workflows to identify areas for optimization and apply creative, practical solutions to evolving challenges.
  • Develop proof-of-concept models for quick deployment to address pressing operational needs.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Act as a liaison between functional and technical teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements and constraints.
  • Train and mentor junior staff on DoD FM processes and technical tool usage.
• Documentation and Compliance:
  
  • Maintain thorough documentation of workflows, solutions, and processes in compliance with DoD standards and audit requirements.
  • Stay updated on policy changes impacting FM and ERP systems.

Requirements:

• Technical Proficiency:
  
  • Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting.
  • Experience with Databricks or similar big data and analytics platforms.
  • Python programming experience preferred for advanced automation and data processing tasks.
• Functional Knowledge:
  
  • In-depth understanding of DoD Financial Management, particularly Accounts Payable and entitlement processes.
  • Hands-on experience with DoD ERP systems like MOCAS, NERP, DAI, or equivalents.
• Problem-Solving:
  
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and develop creative solutions for complex and dynamic challenges.
• Communication and Collaboration:
  • Strong interpersonal skills to bridge functional and technical requirements effectively.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  • Knowledge of federal compliance standards and regulations.
  • Prior experience in agile development environments.
  • Certifications in Databricks, SQL, Python, or DoD FM-related disciplines.
