About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Project Manager / Estimator to oversee the full project lifecycle of commercial construction jobs—from preconstruction and estimating through execution and closeout. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in cost estimating, scope development, project management, and client coordination, with a deep understanding of codes, federal compliance standards, and commercial construction best practices helpful.
This is a key leadership role responsible for delivering quality work on time, on budget, and in compliance with both contract requirements and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
Estimating / Preconstruction
• Prepare detailed takeoffs, material lists, and cost estimates for design-build, bid-build, and negotiated projects.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids.
• Participate in bid reviews, RFQs, and client proposal preparation.
• Conduct site visits as needed to verify existing conditions.
• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and architects to clarify design intent and ensure accuracy of scope.
Project Management
• Plan, coordinate, and manage the execution of commercial and/or federal electrical projects from award to closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules using tools like MS Project or Primavera.
• Track labor, material, and subcontractor performance against budget.
• Manage RFI, submittal, change order, and closeout documentation.
• Conduct site walks, safety inspections, and ensure field compliance with OSHA and EM 385-1-1 (for federal work).
• Communicate regularly with clients, GC partners, engineers, field supervisors, and inspectors.
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager or Estimator in electrical construction.
• Strong background in commercial tenant improvement, institutional, federal, or design-build electrical projects.
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects valued between $500K and $10M+.
• Proficient in electrical estimating software Bluebeam, Procore, and MS Excel.
• Understanding of NEC, NFPA codes, and federal construction protocols (FAR, Davis-Bacon, EM 385-1-1).
• OSHA 30 certification required; EM 385 certification preferred.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills.
Preferred Experience
• Experience working on government or military base projects (VA, GSA, DoD, Corps of Engineers, NAVFAC).
• Familiarity with federal compliance reporting and prevailing wage documentation.
• History of delivering fast-track or occupied facility work.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
