Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products for aircraft evacuation systems. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the aviation industry. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and development of prototypes, material specifications, and production tooling.
  • Substantial hands-on work and interface with factory employees.
  • Creation of test plans, conducting tests, and preparing test reports to show compliance to government standards. (PMA, TSO, DER Repairs)
  • Preparation of design documentation including detail and assembly drawings, work instructions, and inspection requirements.
  • Sourcing of new components and materials from vendors.
  • Writing operating manuals, owner's manuals, and product labeling.
  • Provide technical support through sales department and directly to customers.
  • Draw sketches to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence.
  • Have and utilize good working knowledge of PC skills as necessary to obtain, utilize, plan, reconstruct, evaluate, organize, review, and maintain the necessary records and documentation within the assigned areas. The programs are but not limited to MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Inventor.
  • Promote and maintain safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Maintain an irregular work schedule as required by the Engineering Manager/COO or his/her designee for the servicing and support of routine assignments and scheduled or special events.
  • Participate in decisions relating to all accountable areas, productivity, quality, safety, maintenance as required, processes & systems.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering from accredited institution.
  • 1 -2 years of equivalent experience.
  • Exercise good judgment be highly dependable, and follow instructions as required.
  • Expected to perform day to day tasks, routines, and assignments in a cooperative manner.
