About Remote

Remote is solving global remote organizations’ biggest challenge: employing anyone anywhere compliantly. We make it possible for businesses big and small to employ a global team by handling global payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance. Check out remote.com/how-it-works to learn more or if you’re interested in adding to the mission, scroll down to apply now.

Not only do we encourage folks from all ethnic groups, genders, sexuality, age, abilities, disability status and any other under-represented group to apply, but we prioritize a sense of belonging. We have 4 ERGs (Women, Disability, Queer, Minorities in Tech) who meet regularly with the People team. During your interviews and beyond, we ask & encourage anybody who needs an accommodation to request one from their recruiter.

All of our positions are fully remote. You do not have to relocate to join us!

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help us grow our integrations and partnerships business.

About the Work

Remote Embedded is our partnerships business, enabling our partners to embed Remote’s services through an API directly into their own platforms and applications.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead teams responsible for building the integrations and APIs that power Remote Embedded. You will ensure efficient team operations and collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering peers to deliver impactful solutions.

You will also be involved in calls with prospects and partners throughout their full lifecycle—from sales to implementation—to help them and your teams design and implement optimal solutions.

Teams at Remote typically consist of 5-6 members. You will manage two to four engineering teams, and their team leaders will be your direct reports. You will also participate in and own horizontal initiatives, such as hiring or improving engineering processes.

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage engineering teams to deliver high-quality integrations and APIs.
  • Ensure smooth operation and alignment of teams with business goals.
  • Drive the growth of direct and indirect reports through targeted feedback, coaching, and support.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and engineering peers to drive successful outcomes.
  • Maintain high service standards and ensure SLAs are met for partners.
  • Identify and facilitate collaboration with other teams within Remote.
  • Participate and lead horizontal engineering activities, such as hiring, onboarding and performance management

What you bring:

  • Extensive experience managing engineering teams, particularly in an integration-driven business.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team efficiency and collaboration.
  • A proven track record in API development and scalable platform design.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

What Is It Like to Work Here?

We are distributed and work mostly asynchronously. You will have the trust and freedom to shape your work around your life, and vice versa. This could mean taking a break during the day to go to the gym or pick up your kids from school. In other cases, it might mean having a late evening call to meet with colleagues in different time zones.

Remote is a hyper-growth company. We optimize for impact and act with intensity and care. Please check out our Impact Manifesto and What It Means to Work at Remote to learn more. People who thrive at Remote demand a lot from themselves and others, communicate exceptionally well, and can do a lot with a little.

 Remote Compensation Philosophy

Remote's Total Rewards philosophy is to ensure fair, unbiased compensation and fair equity pay along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate. We do not agree to or encourage cheap-labor practices and therefore we ensure to pay above in-location rates. We hope to inspire other companies to support global talent-hiring and bring local wealth to developing countries.

At first glance our salary bands seem quite wide - here is some context. At Remote we have international operations and a globally distributed workforce.  We use geo ranges to consider geographic pay differentials as part of our global compensation strategy to remain competitive in various markets while we hiring globally.
The base salary range for this full-time position is $126,200 - $189,250 USD. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location, and our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay for the successful candidate in this role is dependent upon many factors such as location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. The base salary range may be subject to change.
At Remote, we foster internal mobility as a key element of our culture of employee growth and development, supported by a compensation philosophy that guarantees pay equity and fairness. Therefore, all compensation changes associated with an internal move will be reviewed by the Total Rewards & People Enablement team on a case by case basis.
