Enterprise Monitoring Analyst I/II- 004364
Job Description
The Enterprise Monitoring Analyst ensures that system hardware, operating systems, and software systems for EHP and all Subsidiaries are properly monitored to achieve compliance with enterprise standards and promote the achievement of SLAs. This position will partner with Engineering, infrastructure, and applications teams to design, build, implement, and maintain complex monitoring configurations needed for their systems. This position requires an individual with an overall in-depth knowledge of IT logical, technical, and monitoring architecture principles.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Level I:
• Maintains and documents system configuration as well as all ongoing moves and changes within monitoring environment.
• Performs day-to-day administration of assigned monitoring tools.
• Works closely with Infrastructure and Application Technical teams to:
o ensure monitoring systems are used effectively
o help define appropriate alerts for their environments
o help them understand and implement monitoring for performance bottlenecks in applications
• Performs implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of monitoring tools and documents processes and changes within the monitoring environment.
• Monitors all data center hardware platforms for hardware and operating system-related alerts, errors, warnings, performance, communications-related issues, or problem conditions.

Level II - In addition to Level I responsibilities:
• Performs advanced day-to-day administration of assigned monitoring tools.
• Provides consulting to Infrastructure and Application technical teams to match hardware/software functionality to monitoring tool capabilities.
• Develops and maintains custom reports based on customer requirements.
• Develops custom device-monitoring utilizing standard and extended MIBs.
• Designs and builds complex application and system reporting dashboards.
Minimum Qualifications

Level I:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant field (or four additional years related work experience in lieu of degree).
• Three years of related work experience.
• One year work experience in an Open Systems environment, with Enterprise Monitoring or UNIX/Windows Systems experience.
• Two years of experience with Network Monitoring.
• Knowledge of servers and Enterprise Networking.
• Knowledge of PC's and desktop software.
• Good analytical abilities and demonstrated ability to communicate with internal and external personnel in a professional manner.
• Experience with Windows 2012 servers or greater.
• Ability to exercise good judgment, work independently and maintain a high degree of professionalism is essential.
• Ability to respond quickly to issues facing high availability, high demand, and enterprise wide services a must.
• Ability to work irregular hours and be on call. Working knowledge of Windows and Linux.
• Special software: Solarwinds, Dynatrace, Splunk, Ansible, ServiceNow.
• Azure and AWS experience a plus.
Level II - requires similar qualifications as Level I, plus:
• Five years of experience administering enterprise monitoring environments.
• Five years of experience with a diverse set of operating systems (Unix AIX, RedHat Linux, Windows).
• CCNA, MCSE, Solarwinds, ITIL certifications preferred.
• Proactively seeks out opportunities to improve all processes.
• Excellent analytical abilities as well as ability to communicate with internal and external personnel in a professional manner.
• In-depth analytical skills for problem solving and troubleshooting.
• In-depth knowledge of Network Protocols, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, MIBs, TCP/IP Stack, Netflow, WMI, virtualization, Storage. Strong skills in SQL Scripting, Powershell, Perl.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills. Attention to detail. Ensures all communications are clear, concise and understood by others.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to complete work in a traditional office environment under fluorescent lighting.
• Ability to orally communicate.
• Must be able to function while sitting at a desk viewing a computer and using a keyboard and mouse for 3 or more hours at a time.
• Must be able to travel across the enterprise.
• Ability to work in a home office for continuous periods of time for business continuity.
• Willingness to provide 24x7x365 support, some weekend work.
