As part of the Enterprise Risk and Compliance team, you will work closely with all levels of management, enabling discussions with the Board of Directors and senior leadership to help drive identification, prioritization, and mitigation of the top risks to the Company's strategies.
As part of the broader Audit, Risk and Compliance (ARC) organization, a Risk Manager in the Enterprise Risk and Compliance team is responsible for driving enterprise risk assessments in either engineering, sales, marketing, or corporate functions. This requires a passion for excellence, a service-based approach, and project management experience with a strong ability to collaborate across teams. This opportunity and broad view of the company will allow you to accelerate your career growth and develop deep business acumen. You will be a champion of our Enterprise Risk Management practices, developing and maintaining relationships with senior business leaders and managing risk-stakeholder engagement models. You will coordinate multiple risk assessments across the organization, through both an interview and data-based approach, and report on the outcomes to various audiences across Microsoft. This role is flexible in that you will be able to partner with your manager to define the way that you'd like to work, whether that is in the office or from home.

  • Business Ownership and Communication
    • Through collaboration, networking, and interpersonal skills, you will build integration with subject matter experts and business leaders while connecting and aligning with the corporate compliance, investigation, and internal audit teams
    • You will partner with stakeholders to determine the levels of risk mitigation in place based on the Enterprise Risk Management methodology, by providing recommendations and driving accountability
    • As a stakeholder engagement leader, you will influence for impact by leading high-quality engagements with executives, using strategic thinking, listening systems, growth mindset, and communication skills
    • You will be comfortable with ambiguity and deal with complex situations by creating clarity
  • Program Management
    • You will use your program management skills to lead the end-to-end process of risk assessments with a data driven approach using analytical reporting tools
    • You will conduct risk assessments across the organization to evaluate the state of risks to strategy based on monitoring of key indicators, risk drivers, control opportunities, and management actions
QualificationsRequired/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Work experience in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Political Science, Compliance, Internal Audit, Accounting, or other related areas of expertise
Additional/Preferred qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field e.g., risk management, business, political science
  • Program management experience
  • Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making experience
  • A record of delivering end-to-end projects in a complex and changing environment
  • Strong communication skills with high articulation ability, especially executive messaging
  • Data driven solutions implementation experience
  • Deep understanding of risk drivers in different business scenarios
