Work Schedule: Standard Meriplex business hours of Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel: Some travel required, willing to travel up to 25%.

Ramp Up: Approx. 4 weeks


Impact: The Events Manager is essential to executing marketing events and to maintaining Meriplex’s visibility, while seeing that all strategic marketing KPIs, ROI, and investments are met. Without this employee performing to the best of their abilities, Meriplex’s marketing team would struggle to execute on strategy, designated event budgets would be squandered, and all revenue resulting from Marketing events would be decreased.


Position Summary:

The Events Manager reports to the Director, Marketing and helps lead the event strategy for in-person conferences, summits, and market events while meeting strategic goals and budgets. This role is responsible for communicating with the Sales team and outside vendors to ensure event plans are executed successfully and responsible for being a team lead to the events team to meet goals and KPIs.


Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

· Execute and manage the overall event strategy for in-person conferences, summits, and market events.

· Manage the corporate events budget, including sponsorship, event booth execution and experience.

· Balance ROI and align spending to strategic goals.

· Manage all aspects of event planning, meeting strict deadlines and budget demands.

· Act as a team lead, supporting your own set of events while handling escalations of the event team.

· Execute webinar strategy including facilitating, sourcing speakers, and creating PowerPoint decks.

· Communicate with Sales Team and outside vendors to ensure plans are followed and met.

· Responsible for monthly event dashboards and reporting to show success of events.

· Troubleshooting and handling team escalations and bridge the gap between sales and marketing.

· Suggesting continual improvements to the event process.

· Utilizing automation to assist with events via email and mobile SMS.

· Understand and execute Marketing concepts and fundamentals.

· Excellent spoken and written communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.


Education/ Experience:

· 5+ years’ experience in event management / coordination.

· Event planning experience in local regional events and tradeshows.

· Previous experience with reporting on KPIs and ROI

· Project Management skills and detailed oriented.

· Passion for working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, with the ability to demonstrate personal commitment and drive to set and exceed high standards.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products such as Word with strong knowledge of PowerPoint; understanding of graphic design programs a plus.

· Clear and concise communicator.

· Team player and willingness to communicate.

· Excel in a fast-paced environment, adapting to change quickly.

· Salesforce Experience a plus.

Physical Demands:

Sedentary Work – Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
