Job Description

Why Join Us

User Interviews is a fully remote team and always has been. We are proactive about staying connected to each other despite not sharing the same physical space. Remote culture is real and we care about it—a lot.

We’re a team of doers. You’ll be fully supported by your manager and team, but there won’t be anyone peering over your shoulder. You’ll be expected and trusted to take ownership of your work, and to communicate clearly and transparently with your distributed teammates.

On a related note, we’re very pro-feedback. From our users, of course. But also from each other. From individual contributors right up to the CEO, this is a team that is genuinely committed to continuous improvement.

About User Interviews

At User Interviews, we believe that the best companies in the world consistently deliver products and experiences that their customers love. We also believe that the only way to consistently build those products and experiences is to talk to your customers. Watch what they do. Understand why they do what they do. Figure out why they do things that seem irrational. And once you’ve done that once, do it again. Start having constant conversations. In short, make customers your #1 priority through user research.

That’s why we exist. We help teams set up those conversations, that research, allowing them to discover and embrace user insights. We specialize in participant recruitment and management because you cannot do good research without good participants, no matter how good your other tools may be. We work with hundreds of companies every month, including user-centric organizations like Atlassian, Amazon, and Spotify.

What you’ll do

As the Events Marketing Manager, you’ll help drive our event strategy and build out our events calendar. You’ll manage content/programming, logistics, and performance for in-person and remote events, hosted and sponsored.

You’ll work with stakeholders across our marketing, sales, and product teams to innovate on existing event programs (like our quarterly Product Talks and monthly webinars), lead our first-ever UI-hosted half-day remote event (scheduled for January 26th), and build out our sponsored event calendar and goals for the year ahead.

You’ll report directly to our Content Director, working closely on content/audience alignment for the events we create and take part in. You’ll also work closely with our Growth Marketing Director and Sales teams to ensure that our efforts are aligned with and contribute to revenue goals.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 📆 You have 2+ years of experience running events end-to-end ideally in a B2B or SaaS setting.
  • 🧑‍🦰  You are a people person. You are magnetic and passionate and love the energy that comes with building community and connection through events.
  • 🐱 You know how to herd cats. Even simple events can involve lots of internal and external stakeholders, partners, attendees, etc. You are on top of who needs to do what when, and get everyone excited to be part of it. Logistics is your middle name.
  • 🧑‍🎨 If logistics is your middle name, your first name is creative. Our events should stand out, they should mean something, connect with people emotionally, have a point and a theme, and not be like the same thing everyone else is doing. Be bold. Have fun. Say something that matters.
  • 🧗 You have a proven track record of driving results. While you will learn a lot here and reach new heights for User Interviews and your own career, you should be able to show how you have used your skills, influence, growth mindset, ability to work with constraints, etc to achieve notable results in the past.
  • 🎙 You should have an interest in User Interviews and user research. Work shouldn’t be a slog. You’ll enjoy it more if you have a general interest in our customers and what we do and you’ll be more effective too.
  • Candidates must have a United States address and be authorized to work without any Visa sponsorship.
