The Opportunity

Leads the development and implementation of objectives, policies, procedures, and programs related to training and/or management development in order to meet the organization's skill requirements. Oversee programs and training opportunities offered internally and/or through vendors. Evaluate programs and training to ensure goals and objectives are met.

What you'll do:

  • Serves as the singular point of accountability for all learning and development in support of a designated line of business including learning strategy, execution, and reporting.
  • Partners with LOB senior leaders and HR Business Partners to identify learning needs and sets the plan to achieve business objectives.
  • Manages the matrixed relationships with the business and the Learning and Development leaders to ensure high quality learning solutions meet the needs of the business.
  • Partners closely with the Risk and Compliance organizations to ensure all regulatory requirements and expectations are delivered with excellence.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the line of business Learning and Development across all internal and external owners.
  • Accountable for managing the line of business learning budget and project manage execution to meet program implementation milestones and budgets.
  • Accountable for developing and sustaining program evaluation processes and measurements to monitor and report upon the effectiveness of program offerings and return on investment.
  • Evaluate strategies and programs to measure the achievement of established goals.
  • Develops, manages and executes the operational and technological direction of learning technology including the business requirements, solutions, and integration with enterprise shared platforms (i.e. Connect, UTV, SharePoint, Lync, etc.).
  • Oversees the development of training policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Performs workload management and prioritization duties in support of operations for the functional area assigned.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 10 years of learning and development experience to include developing learning strategies, learning consultation, training design and/or managing major training initiatives and delivering results within a complex matrix environment.
  • 4 or more years of people leadership experience in building, managing and/or developing high-performing teams required.
  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements, quality standards and policies and procedures applicable to training and development to meet financial institution standards.
  • Executive-level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and application of instructional design change management concepts and leadership development principles and processes.
  • Experience responding to Internal Audit, regulatory requests and risk and controls.
  • Experience implementing aspects of evaluation models with actionable results.
  • Extensive experience in needs assessment and curriculum design for diverse audiences and on a broad range of topics.

What sets you apart:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing on a strategy.
  • 3+ years of P&C Claims experience with technical claims knowledge.

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $136,600.00-245,900.00.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.
