This role focuses on supporting the optimization and evolution of technical products that improve the performance of existing buildings within the built environment.
You will contribute to initiatives that enhance product usability, technical accuracy, and customer experience across sustainability and certification programs.
The position plays a key role in supporting the development, maintenance, and refinement of frameworks such as LEED O+M and related tools.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, certification, marketing, and technical experts to ensure alignment and consistency across offerings.
The role combines research, content development, and project coordination to help advance sustainability goals and improve building performance outcomes.
You will also support communication, education, and stakeholder engagement efforts related to technical products and program updates.

Accountabilities:
The Existing Buildings Associate supports the development, optimization, and communication of technical products focused on improving the performance of existing assets within the built environment.
- Support the strategy and optimization of technical products serving existing buildings, ensuring alignment across programs and initiatives.
- Assist in maintaining and updating LEED O+M technical content, including credit language, guidance, and supporting documentation.
- Conduct research and benchmarking of industry programs, sustainability standards, and best practices to inform product development.
- Support development of new technical product versions and enhancements aligned with organizational goals.
- Help translate technical requirements into clear internal and external communications and educational materials.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, volunteers, and internal teams to refine technical content and ensure implementability.
- Assist in creating SOPs and internal documentation to support consistent application of credit requirements and processes.
- Track project progress using tools such as Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and Smartsheet to ensure timely execution.
- Review building performance data and provide insights to improve technical product application and outcomes.
- Support coordination of committee communications, meeting materials, and cross-functional updates.
- Assist in aligning technical updates with IT systems and digital platforms as needed.
- 2+ years of experience in the built environment, sustainability, project coordination, compliance, or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental science, operations, policy, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with green building frameworks such as LEED or similar certification systems is preferred.
- Strong writing, communication, and documentation skills with attention to technical detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities.
- Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Salesforce or Smartsheet is a plus.
- Exposure to AI tools or digital workflow optimization is an advantage.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across diverse stakeholders and teams.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and data accuracy.
- LEED GA or LEED AP certification is a plus.
- Competitive salary range of $55,000–$70,000 annually
