External Reviewer – Science (Contract)

The Expert Reviewer, Science, will be responsible for reviewing Science content across products to ensure it meets standards for accuracy and clarity. They will ensure the content is appropriately leveled for students in specific grades. The person in this role will offer feedback based on their educational insight and subject-specific expertise, including knowledge of historical trends and contemporary research in their discipline.
Responsibilities of the Expert Reviewer, Science:

• Review and provide feedback on the content in various stages of development (concept, drafting, final product) to ensure that Science content is factually accurate, representative of broad trends in the field, and appropriately leveled for students in the target grade level.
• As appropriate, offer coherent, consistent recommendations for revision.
• As needed, provide research and references to support feedback or contextualize a specific Science concept.

Basic Qualifications of the Expert Reviewer, Science:

• Degree in a Science field
• 15+ years of experience in Science Education
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications of the External Reviewer, Science:

• Degree in education
• Experience in educational leadership
• Experience or education in multiple fields or subfields within Science (e.g., biology, ecology, chemistry)

Compensation: The hourly rate range for this role is $50-$60.
