JOB DESCRIPTION:

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics brings together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies to support diagnostic testing which provides important information for treatment and management of diseases and other conditions.

We are hiring for a Financial Analyst supporting our Government Services Toxicology business unit and will be based in Santa Rosa, CA. This position reports to the Senior Manager, FP&A. They are responsible for supporting the Commercial and Lab Operations financial planning and analysis function for Government Services in compliance with all GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations and procedures. This position focuses on results achievement and transactional excellence in a constantly changing and complex business environment. Organizational goals will be achieved through effective management of multiple priorities and building effective relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) of the Government Services business unit, supporting both Commercial and Lab Operations
• Prepare, consolidate, and analyze information to support deliverables during LBE/Plan cycles
• Provide month end analysis and commentary on a timely and accurate basis
• Analyze actual operating results compared to LBE/Plan and quantifies variance and their impact
• Conduct monthly financial reviews with department managers to communicate financial performance and provide valuable insight to help business achieve financial goals
• Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements
• Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance
• Prepare and track weekly payroll of permanent and temporary employees
• Prepare accurate site headcount by department
• Provide ad hoc analysis to support key projects or other related activity as required
• Always maintain confidentiality

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS | EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting or related field or equivalent experience
• 1 - 2 years of experience in a related field
• Advanced proficiency in using computers, specifically MS Excel, Word, Power Point
• Strong analytical, problem solving, variance analysis skills, accuracy, and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) ERP system
• Experience with Hyperion SmartView and Power BI
• Effective communication skills and soft skills
• Excellent organization skills - must be able to manage many simultaneous projects
• Attention to detail - must have precision in their work, especially as it relates to understanding and documenting complex issues.
• Ability to work with staff at all levels of organization
• Process orientated, detailed, logical, analytical, meticulous, and highly organized, able to analyze data and implement solutions
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and its application
• Ability to respond and adapt to changing business needs
• Adaptable and willing to take on multiple new tasks and responsibilities while managing and prioritizing multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment
• Understanding and experience with Corporate Finance
