Frontend Software Engineer

• Develop the Tailscale product, contributing to client code and related services.
• Bring a special focus on front-end engineering both for web properties and for client applications running on user devices. Expertise with multiple front-end ecosystems (listed below) is a strong plus, but if you primarily specialize in only one of these we’d still encourage you to apply.

• Web front-end development in React and Typescript, with a strong grasp of HTML/CSS fundamentals
• Experience with one or more applications front-end ecosystems
• Windows using Win32
• macOS and iOS using Swift
• Android using Java or Kotlin
• Working with UX Researchers, Product Managers, and Designers to define the user experience.

• Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently
• Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
• Most of the non-front-end portions of the system are developed in the Go programming language. Experience with Go is a plus.

• Work as part of a team of engineers and designers to add features in the Tailscale service
• Take a holistic view of the product, from customer needs to client applications to the admin console
