Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Gastroenterologist who possesses diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound skills in the management of patients with G.I. diseases, including FNA cytology and biopsy, drainage of pancreatic cyst and bile duct obstruction, and expertise in cancer management including staging of esophageal and rectal cancer.

Duties can include but are not limited to performing:

Providing outpatient and inpatient consultations to evaluate patients with G.I. diseases, including sharing on-call service.
Performing routine diagnostic, therapeutic upper endoscopy, and colonoscopy.
Providing routine care including health maintenance as well as diagnostic/therapeutic service for patients with acute conditions including pancreaticobiliary diseases and patients admitted with acute cholangitis, obstructive jaundice, and other significant G.I. issues.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is impossible to recruit qualified citizens, in accordance with VA Policy.
Education: A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine is required.
Licensure: Candidates must possess a current, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency: Completion of a residency program in an accredited core specialty
Board Certification: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
