Generative AI Product Manager

We’re looking for a Generative AI Product Manager who thrives at the intersection of data product and innovation. This role is about more than just experimenting with AI tools—it’s about scaling AI impact across the business. You’ll help us unlock value from our Databricks data platform design AI-powered workflows and products and lead the enablement of AI across teams.

You’ll be both a builder and an orchestrator: prototyping AI solutions shaping enterprise use cases and helping establish the foundations—tools governance and culture—that make AI sustainable at scale.
 

What you’ll do at Avant

• Prototype & Pilot AI Use Cases: Build scrappy MVPs and run hands-on pilots that leverage our data (in Databricks) and AI tooling to solve real business problems.

• Scale AI Agents & Workflows: Deploy AI copilots and automation for high-value internal workflows (e.g. customer support underwriting analytics).

• Partner on AI Roadmap: Work with business units to identify prioritize and validate AI opportunities—balancing quick wins with longer-term strategic bets.

• Enable AI Across the Org: Drive adoption by building shared repositories of use cases running enablement sessions and integrating AI literacy into company culture.

• Measure Impact: Define metrics for adoption efficiency and quality of AI solutions; use data to guide iteration and scaling.

• Shape AI Governance & Best Practices: Partner with Product Data and Engineering to establish standards around safety compliance and responsible AI use.

• AI-First Mindset: A power user of AI tools (ChatGPT Claude GitHub Copilot etc.) with curiosity for experimenting and applying them in real workflows.

• Product Builder: 5+ years in product or program management ideally in tech or fintech with experience taking concepts from zero to shipped solutions.

• Data Fluent: Comfortable with SQL and working in a data platform like Databricks; strong instincts for measuring impact with data.

• System Thinker: Able to connect dots across business workflows data pipelines and AI opportunities—not just tasks.

• Great Communicator: You can translate technical possibilities into business outcomes and align executives engineers and end users alike.

• Action-Oriented: You move quickly prototype relentlessly and aren’t afraid to break and learn.
   

• Experience embedding GenAI into customer-facing fintech or data-driven products.

• Familiarity with AI infrastructure and tooling (LangChain vector databases LLM APIs).

• Hands-on experience with Databricks for data pipelines ML models or AI experimentation.

• A track record of shipping AI-powered tools (whether formally at work or informally on your own).

This role is based on our downtown Chicago Office located in the Merchandise Mart. We highly value collaboration and our hybrid schedule (M T Th in-office) enables flexibility to balance work and individual priorities.

Compensation Range:

The base salary range for this job is USD $165000 USD - $185000 USD /Year

Employees new to Avant typically come in below the midpoint of the pay range. The compensation range is based on the level outlined in the job posting and compensation decisions are dependent on each applicant's experience skills and abilities.

This role is eligible for additional incentives including an annual bonus. These rewards are allocated based on level impact and performance in the role.
