For people living with chronic pain and movement disorders, our portfolio of therapies help them move and feel better, allowing chronic pain patients to reduce or stabilize the long-term use of opioids and get back to living their lives, while helping patients with movement disorders combat the symptoms of their condition.

We offer specialized devices for people suffering from chronic pain and movement disorders through solutions that deliver stimulation to the spinal cord, dorsal root ganglion and the brain.
  • Our Proclaim series includes devices designed to deliver spinal cord stimulation (SCS) for the treatment of chronic pain, and dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation for patients seeking relief from causalgia - nerve pain following surgery or injury - and complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS).
  • Our Infinity Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) system sends mild pulses of electricity to the brain, alleviating symptoms of Parkinson's disease and essential tremor.


Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Global Marketing Communications Manager.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Global Marketing Communications Manager within Abbott's Neuromodulation business you will be the key point of contact between the respective team and internal stakeholders involved in marketing projects from start to finish, and will lead a team responsible for campaign strategy, content development, project management and global distribution of materials. This role is crucial to the success of the Business Unit's marketing objectives by creating and implementing a broad range of marketing communications activities through autonomous and collaborative project management.
  • Manages a team responsible for all global marketing communications initiatives including new product launches, marketing campaigns, cross-functional communications support (Prof Ed, Sales Training, Events, etc.), inventory management, metrics and reporting
  • Develops and delivers marketing campaigns and activities in partnership with Product Managers, Regional Marketing, Sales Managers, regulatory, legal, and external vendors.
  • Drives global marketing campaigns from concept to completion, overseeing all aspects including message development and testing, creative brief, design, budget, approval, and change control for the chronic pain and movement disorders portfolios
  • Contributes to and supports global and regional product marketing in the development and execution of annual marketing and product launch plans, marcomm development that effectively communicates product positioning and branding
  • Strategy development through tactical executions of marketing activities
  • Monitors progress, assures adherence and evaluates the performance of brand and marketing tactics to ensure objectives are met
  • Delivers reports and develops presentations against marketing material creation including presenting to and for business unit cohorts
  • Creates strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams necessary to deliver against fast-paced deadlines and goals
  • Project manages execution steps necessary to launch and revise marketing and sales materials including working with external partners and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Responsible for managing the Global Marcom budget and supports finance process by managing and tracking submissions of invoices and other divisional marketing expenses
  • Leads end to end process including development, coordination and delivery of tactical marketing materials and content such as brochures, websites, advertisements, animated demonstrations, mobile apps, training materials, promotions, events, videos, and other sales tools
  • Maintains periodic review of active portfolio of global marketing materials including managing revisions, suggesting replacement and developing new content/materials
  • Independently performs assignments with limited instruction and develops approach to a solution based on needs/goals
  • Understands and is aware of the quality consequences which may occur from the improper performance of their specific job; has awareness of device defects that may occur in their area of responsibility, including product design, verification and validation, manufacturing and testing activities
  • Carries out duties in compliance with established business policies
  • Other duties as assigned, according to the changing needs of the business.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required
  • BS Degree in Marketing, Marketing Communications, Communications, Project Management, or similar business-related degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in a marketing or marketing communications role
  • Microsoft Office and familiarity/comfort with other web-based software tools
  • Previous experience delivering marketing and sales tools through various mediums including but not limited to print, web, email, event, animation, video and mobile
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and influence multiple colleagues, complex tasks and projects from conception to successful completion under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills./
  • Flexible, effective, and results-driven within a fast paced, dynamic, evolving environment
  • Collaborative, diplomatic, and able to interact professionally with a wide variety of constituents.
  • Travel as needed, up to 4 times per year.


Preferred
  • Additional language skills a plus
  • Event Planning & Coordination
  • Previous experience in medical device/diagnostics, healthcare industry or agency role
  • Experience with digital marketing tools: SEO, Google Adwords, Facebook Ads, display advertising, email marketing, marketing automation software is a plus
  • Experience working internationally or with other countries and cultures
  • Sensitivity to cross-cultural differences
