The Opportunity
This position works out of our Des Plaines, IL Headquarters of Abbott Molecular, we are a division of Abbott Laboratories, a global, diversified healthcare innovator with a legacy of pioneering work in medical diagnostics.
This position is responsible for the Global Service documentation compliance & governance, supports all related audits and CAPA activities, and drives an effective and result-oriented organization.
This position will assist in defining; creating; and maintaining key Division documents and service-level definitions to execute this role.
This will include the processing of:
- Responsible for the Global Service Documentation Compliance & Governance
- Supports all related Audit & CAPA activities
- Drives an effective and result-oriented organization
- Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
- Applies engineering and risk management principles in the monitoring and improving instrument subassemblies, systems, or processes.
- Investigates complaints and failures for root causes and recommends corrective and preventive actions.
- Trains and Coaches other Global Service and Support team members on Abbott Molecular Quality Systems.
- Takes an Administrator role for Complaint Management Systems.
- Performs Corrective and Preventive Action investigations individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Supports the organization with Audit preparation and responses.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
This position is accountable for Global Service Compliance through leadership and setting precedence in GSS Document Control, Installation, and Servicing. This position will ensure that high-impact programs are defined; resourced; prioritized and implemented in order to achieve a long-range plan. Will work with GSS Area Directors and Managers; R&D; Affiliate Quality, PQA, Manufacturing, and TPD to develop an integrated service strategy.
Major Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Global Service Documentation Compliance & Governance:
- Ensures the Service & Support organization follows regulatory and quality processes when performing service functions, as well as drives best-in-class practices of ticket documentation
- Interacts with multiple functions and organizational levels to effectively assess technical, business, and compliance implications of products performance
- Provide global field action service implementation tracking for the Service Organization
- Supports and launches reporting mechanism/dashboard of ticket documentation health to proactively determine opportunities for improvement.
- Trains and Coaches other Global Service and Support team members on Abbott Molecular Quality Systems
- Supports all related Audit & CAPA activities
- Lead efforts to prepare for internal & external audits related to servicing teams and processes and serve as primary audit Service Contact
- Ensures overall inspection readiness activities for affiliates, FSEs, and Service personnel.
- Represent the Global Service Organization in Service CAPAs
- Project manager Service assigned CAPAs effectively while meeting each milestone deadline.
- Investigates complaints and failures for root cause and recommends corrective and preventive actions
- Performs Corrective and Preventive Action investigations individually or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Supports the organization with Audit preparation and responses.
- May perform other duties as assigned
- Drives an effective and result-oriented organization
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to create momentum and deliver excellent results.
- Be a champion of Quality, Lean and disciplined problem-solving throughout service organization and cross-collaboration with other department
BA/BS degree required or 7 years' experience in a Service Operations or Quality role.
Background
- Preferred experience in a technical/quality or operational area and knowledge of the change control process and configuration management.
- Requires working knowledge of the Abbott CAPA process. (CAPA certification is preferred.)
- Experience with audit preparations
- Experience with Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations.
- Ability to report on and close out quality investigations.
- Data investigative skills; experience using TrackWise QMS Software, SmartSolve, and/or CMS Next software.
- Knowledge of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485.
- Must be able to problem solve, manage projects, influence internal and external groups, and provide leadership.

The base pay for this position is
$71,300.00 - $142,700.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
