Our Structural Heart business purpose is to restore health and improve quality of life through the design and provision of device and management solutions for the treatment of structural heart disease. We aim to lead the markets we serve by requiring the solutions we offer customers provide an improved benefit/risk profile as compared to existing standards of care; a performance threshold that by definition, guides and ensures the productive output of our engineering, business development, and clinical research efforts result in outcomes that advance the standard of care.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing product strategy and tactical implementation of global initiatives for Abbott's leading transcatheter tricuspid valve repair (TTVr) therapy. This includes development of marketing plans and activities that drive commercial success of the product in a manner that highlights differentiation and value. This "product champion" will be a steward of our TTVr brand, and a product representative to our internal regional marketing partners and external stakeholders/customers from around the world. You will be located at our Santa Clara, CA location or our Plymouth, MN location.
- Develop global marketing strategy and lead or supports regional partners in tactical execution of programs with a worldwide influence. As the tricuspid repair therapy leader, create and drive global messaging and positioning with cross-functional and cross-geography stakeholders including regional marketing, clinical affairs, medical affairs, training and education and marketing communications.
- Set direction for, author and obtain regional, cross-functional and leadership alignment on key strategy documents: strategic plan, annual marketing plan, product launch plans, channel strategy.
- Lead global launch teams in development of launch plans and core downstream launch materials and tools for first in world launches and support ongoing launches in major markets.
- Understand and stay current on market dynamics and the competition. Create and champion competitive strategies and associated positioning and tools that differentiate the mitral portfolio and grow market share.
- Identify barriers to growth of transcatheter tricuspid valve therapies and develop strategies, core programs and materials to drive product awareness and market development with referrer and patient segments to help regions achieve their market growth objectives.
- Research and integrate new marketing strategies and tactics including digital, interactive and online media, mobile applications, AI and other creative solutions that complement traditional approaches.
- Identify drivers of growth for TriClip and develop multichannel commercial tactics in partnership with global upstream marketing and geographic commercial teams.
- Responsible for working with cross-functional partners in Upstream Marketing, Training & Education, R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, and in particular with our Regional Marketing and field partners to leverage successful marketing and sales programs, develop new programs and ensure initiatives have impact in the operating year.
- Development of awareness and education strategies to target referring physicians and patients.
- Development of awareness, education and trial programs for ICs and surgeons who currently are not implanting TriClip or have not adopted TriClip.
- Market research and analysis of referring physicians as well as customers currently implanting to develop customer segmentation model.
- Manage and develop a junior marketing manager.
- Collaborate with Global Marketing Communications team to manage external agencies and freelancers to develop best-in-class channel marketing plans and tactics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- 8+ years of downstream product marketing, commercial launch and market development experience within medical device industry
- Bachelors' degree in marketing or similar
- Ability to think strategically and develop frameworks and programs to help meet business objectives
- Excellent communication skills-has frequent contact with key opinion leaders and interfaces with senior-level management across functional groups and geographies
- Influence management- Ability to be persuasive in the absence of organizational authority
- Strong leadership capability-ability to function as the marketing lead on therapy, procedure and pipeline development
- Project management and prioritization-ability to manage complex projects and programs, including budget management. Ability to pull the appropriate level, functional and geographic functions together to support initiatives
- Analytical skills-ability analyze information and extract insights to develop therapy and disease models, market and customer segmentation, pricing strategies/models and business metrics.
- Ability to thrive in a broad enterprise/cross-division, highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Understanding of implantable medical products, clinical data, technical information and clinical and regulatory process and environment.
Preferred
- MBA.
- Knowledge of cardiovascular disease, physiology and products.
- Knowledge/experience with customer base-cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, nurses.
