POSITION SUMMARY:
Thomson Lamination Company's is currently looking to fill an immediate position in the Grinding department. This person will be responsible for aiding in the repair and maintenance of Thomson extensive stamping dies used to produce laminations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform various machining operations (O.D/I.D. Grinding, honing, drilla and tapping, milling) as specified by customer prints and specifications
• Utilize measuring devices to ensure that parts are according to specification
• Inspect parts throughout the machining process with calibrated equipments
• Complete any and all required work instructions, forms, and data collection required
A strong candidate for this position will possess the following:
• 2 years of surface grinding or machining
• 2 years of manual machining with mills, lathes, and vertical drills
• Experience with ID (inner diameter) and OD (outer diameter) machining
• Ability to read prints and work to close tolerances.
• Mechanically inclined and interested in die repair.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and motivational skills.
• A working understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Tool and Die Maker background.
• Problem solving skills.
• Familiarity machining equipment such as surface grinders, manual mills, manual lathes etc.
• A willingness to accept on the job training when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
