Openpath Security (Openpath), a Motorola Solutions Company, is a leader within the access control industry. Openpath’s access control solution makes businesses more secure with multi-factor authentication, enables a contactless entry experience and can be easily scaled and managed due to its cloud-based architecture.
Job Description

We are looking for an experienced hands-on hardware test engineer to help build our next generation of access control products at the high level of quality and reliability required to lead the industry. You will need to work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure all product shipping to our customers is of the highest quality and performance. You will also be responsible for bring-up and testing activity related to new product launches and manufacturing site changes.

Responsibilities:

• Design, define, and develop fabrication/assembly/integration/test processes for electrical products used in high reliability applications

• Design test equipment and test setups that are flexible and evolve with our ever evolving scope

• Design assembly and fabrication tooling. Own these from concept through implementation

• Develop work instructions and documentation for build and test processes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM field (Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, etc.)

• 5+ years of experience working in the hardware sector (consumer or commercial), with deep knowledge of quality control and testing processes

• 2+ years of experience creating test and automation scripts in C,

• 2+ years of experience working in production, R&D, or test operation environments

• Familiarly with test scripting in C++, Python, or other related languages

• Outstanding communication and documentation skills

• Understanding of how turn customer issues into testing activities and improved design requirements

Preference will be given to candidates with the following:

• Proficiency with CAD modeling software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, OnShape)

• Working knowledge of C#

• Working knowledge of EMS, OEM, ODM operations and production processes

• Understanding of firmware and hardware development pipeline

• Experience with OTA based products in high reliability applications

• Conversational Mandarin

• Willingness to work unconventional hours while working with overseas vendors

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 1+ years of experience working with hardware

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
