Head of Engineering

We're seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering to lead our technical vision and scale our architecture to meet growing demand.

The Role:

As Head of Engineering, you'll drive technical strategy and execution, leading a distributed engineering team building consumer-facing AI applications. You'll be responsible for scaling our architecture, LLM pipelines, and real-time video processing systems while maintaining high performance and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead technical strategy and architecture decisions for our AI-powered avatar platform, real-time video processing and streaming capabilities
• Scale our architecture and LLM pipelines to handle increasing user demand
• Drive technical decisions around AI/ML infrastructure, cloud services, and data architecture and establish engineering best practices.
• Oversee system reliability, performance optimization, and infrastructure costs
• Collaborate with product and business teams to align technical roadmap with company goals
• Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team across multiple domains
• Lead technical due diligence and vendor evaluation for key partnerships

Required Qualifications:

• CS degree or equivalent required
• Experience with real-time video processing and streaming technologies (e.g. WebRTC, HLS, websockets)
• Track record of building and leading engineering teams
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (GCP / AWS)
• Experience with modern AI/ML frameworks and tools
• Excellent communication skills and ability to bridge technical and business considerations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven experience scaling consumer-facing applications and services
• Advanced degree in Computer Science or background in a related field
• Track record of successful product launches and scaling high loaded applications
• Publications or contributions to the AI/ML community
• Experience with agile methodologies and remote team management
