Head of People Operations
Canopy is a fast-growing SaaS startup in Draper, Utah building simple, efficient software for accounting firms. We are looking to revolutionize the accounting space with modern, user-friendly software for a neglected industry. We place strong emphasis on delighting our customers, spotting and solving problems, and being good people along the way.
We are looking for a Head of People Operations who excels in a roll-up-your-sleeves environment and is an empathetic, strategic leader. Reporting to the CEO, you will own the strategy and execution of the following People Operations functions: Human Resources (compensation, benefits, compliance, etc.), Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, People & Culture (employee engagement, activities, events, culture initiatives, etc.), DEIB, and Facilities (company’s physical space and logistics).Â
This role is a hybrid role based in Draper, UT.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure that Canopy’s core values of Win, Own, and Do Good are reflected in decisions, programs and processes as the company grows.
- Partner with our executive team and people leaders on all things people, including recruiting, performance management and reviews, training, employee relations, organizational development, and DEIB initiatives.
- Expand HR tools, processes, and guidelines that reflect current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments and applicable law.
Your Skills Include:
- 5+ years of HR experience, SHRM or PHR Certification preferred
- Previous experience in a tech startup
- Strong ability to balance long-term strategic initiatives and more immediate priorities
- Proven experience as a strategic consultant and coach to executives
- Experience working in various HRIS platforms (Rippling preferred)
- Deep HR technical skills to manage delivery of workforce planning, compensation & benefits planning, employee relations, employment laws and compliance issues andÂ
- Demonstrated success in building an effective full-cycle recruitment engine
