Job Description Summary:

We are looking for a passionate, innovative, and self-driven thought leader, who can anticipate our business needs, solve for complex problems, and develop strategy as part of the Enterprise Cyber Security team. The Head of Security Architecture will lead our security architects and lead engineers, who partner and collaborate across organizations, leading cross-functional teams to identifying and solving complex problem statements. Lead strategic initiatives and build innovative security products that will delight our customers, while protecting the PayPal brand, securing safety and trust across all products & services globally.

Job Description:

Be a leader as part of PayPal's Enterprise Cyber Security team and define our strategy and technical direction to protect our customers, our merchants, our partners and our global ecosystem. You will work closely with our Enterprise Architecture team and our product development teams to solve for high-impact challenges. You will modernize our platforms with the industry leading technologies and security best practices. You will mentor and develop talents in our Security Architecture function.

Experience Requirements

• Respected senior information security leader at a large, global company in dynamic and fast-changing markets.
• Experience leading and managing architects & lead engineers.
• Deep subject matter expertise and understanding of security technology and adapting to evolving threat landscape.
• Demonstrated experience in driving and implementing security technology and programs to solve for classes of new cybersecurity threats.
• Experience in financial services and security technology industries.

Role

• Initially leads a team of 5 senior staff, combination of security architects and lead engineers; team expected to grow to 8-10 in the next 2-3 years.
• Defines strategic initiatives for the architecture team and ECS – drives organization to security outcomes.
• Member of the Enterprise Architecture team; accountable for security in the Enterprise Architecture community.
• Decomposes complex enterprise challenges and problems into an actionable strategy, which solves for business/people, technology and security.
• Significant experience with large scale public cloud environments and zero-trust principles
• Familiar with enterprise architecture concepts and principles
• Risk-based approach to enable business while minimizing exposure and impact to the business; understands the value and need on maturity approach.
