Health Science Specialist

BASIC REQUIREMENT: A Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.

AND

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal Service that includes performing the following duties: Compiles department level policies, guidance documents, FAQs related to biospecimens.; Serves as an expert consultant to the biorepository programs.; Oversees all aspects of the program, including committing resources, gaining compliance with policies and procedures, and resolving complex issues.; Develops tools and provides education to the department program office and local research programs related to biospecimen issues.

A structured interview will require a writing sample in response to questions related to biorepository policy will be required.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, including typical office work. The work does include travel to biospecimen handing facilities, meetings, and conferences.
