The Subject Matter Expert is responsible for creating and supporting the development of educational content that helps Developmental Math, College Algebra, Liberal Arts, and Quantitative Reasoning students acquire the knowledge and skills they need to be successful. Working in partnership with learning designers, product managers, project managers, and other colleagues, the person in this role will help their team deliver innovative, high-quality products and provide timely support to students and instructors.

What You'll Do Here:

• Creates, reviews, and revises a broad range of educational content, including narrative and assessment question types and activities, remediation content, video scripts, alt text, and learning objectives primarily for our digital learning platform WebAssign.
• Collaborates with team members to monitor evolving market needs and work to create new content types.
• Ensures educational content meets all project requirements and quality standards, including adherence to diversity, equality, inclusivity and belonging guidelines.
• Develops standards and guidelines that help external vendors to create and review educational content.
• Efficiently resolves content-related customer support issues.

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in Mathematics or related sub-discipline.
• Deep subject matter expertise.
• At least one year of experience teaching k12 or college level courses.
• Experience creating student-facing educational content.
• Ability to produce written work within desired timeframes.
• Comfort with taking direction and adapting written work based on feedback from colleagues.
• Detail-oriented, focused, and collaborative approach to work.
• Willingness and ability to learn new technologies and platforms.

Nice to have

• Superior collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience authoring in WebAssign or other math digital learning platforms.
• Familiarity with metadata tagging, accessibility standards, and ADA compliance.
• Experience participating in the development of educational videos.
• Knowledge of learning design and instructional design methodologies as well as agile iterative development.
