Incubation Social Engineering Lead

As a Lead Social Engineer at Bungie, you will build the architecture and systems that will enable social connections in shared spaces for millions of players. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, dedicated, cross-discipline team united around our mission to create a positive impact in people's lives as we bring a new Bungie world to life.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Build and maintain production-quality systems, workflows, and tools in C++
• Directly manage and lead several engineers, providing support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback and career development coaching
• Collaborate daily with a cross-disciplinary team to build delightful new experiences
• Effectively write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation, with the ability to summarize complex topics and achieve alignment across multiple teams

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Ability to communicate with teammates of different technical and non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals
• Experience leading (direct management, mentoring, or guiding) engineers
• Experience building client-side systems that integrate with online backend state (ex. player inventory, progression, quests, seasonal events) in a shipped service game
• Ability to build client-side social systems (ex. party invite/join flows, matchmaking, chat) for shared online worlds

NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS

• Experience with development using the Unreal Engine
• Experience with development on a variety of platforms (PC, console, mobile)
• Experience with technologies and best practices to build healthy online communities (anti-toxicity systems, COPPA compliance, etc.)
• Interest in dynamic/generative narrative systems in simulation genres
• Interest in cozy, lighthearted social simulation worlds
