Ardent is seeking an Information Engineer to join our team. Â
This is a remote role.
The Information Engineer is part of a tightly-integrated client-contractor team performing cloud-hosting O&M and agile software development in support of a federal agency’s financial management and reporting.  The Information Engineer will design a development infrastructure for an existing federal system, in addition to daily monitoring and optimization of the existing production environment. The role works closely with the Database Administrator, Information Security Officer, and team of Application Developers to identify and troubleshoot issues, make recommendations for improvements to the system’s security infrastructure, and assist with new system enhancements.  This role requires someone who desires to be highly-collaborative, attentive to detail, a creative problem-solver, and communicates effectively in team settings. Â
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new cloud-based network and server environment for a development instance of an existing federal financial system
- Manage and maintain existing production financial system infrastructure
- Identify and learn additional software and hardware used and supported by the organization in the usage of the financial system.
- Ensure virus definitions, software updates and patches are up-to-date.
- Provide real-time monitoring of development and production environments.
Requirements
- 3+ years of IT support experience in a business environment.
- Understanding of technical/information technology concepts.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Administration experience with Windows Server environments, including Virtual Machines
- Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Exchange, SharePoint, Active Directory, Skype for Business.
- Experience configuring network traffic in a cloud-based infrastructure (e.g. Azure, AWS) with a strong eye toward security
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau
