Job Summary

SmithRx is developing the next-generation modern pharmacy benefits management (PBM) platform that will change how companies administer and manage pharmacy benefits. Our unified technology platform provides real-time actionable insights that drives cost savings, powers clinical services and results in a brillant customer experience. A unified technology platform exists nowhere in the pharmacy benefit ecosystem to programmatically solve widespread deficiencies. The result is a PBM delivering unmatched service quality and operation efficiens that exceeds all industry standards.

As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a key role in the continual improvement of SmithRx’s  cloud operations and infrastructure. You will help scale SmithRx’s technology infrastructure while adhering to industry best practices and common security frameworks.

• Help build, maintain, and scale a cloud-native infrastructure that is elegant, redundant, and compliant.
• Manage systems with forward thinking automation and orchestration tools.
• Partner with development teams to improve services through testing and release procedures.
• Introduce workflows, toolsets, or processes that help streamline developer productivity.
• Gain a deep understanding of the challenges that SmithRx faces, technical and otherwise; collaborate with other teams to identify and carry out effective solutions.
• Be the cornerstone of a collaborative learning culture through exploration of new technologies, application of best practices, and any other innovations you would like to experiment with.
• Understand the health regulatory space and maintain HIPAA compliant systems.
• Make pragmatic decisions about technical tradeoffs.
• Participate in on-call rotation as needed

What will you bring to SmithRx:

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• 5+ years building and managing infrastructure systems in a cloud environment
• 3+ years experience in cloud (AWS) infrastructure
• Experience building and maintaining a container based infrastructure with Kubernetes and serverless architecture with Lambda functions
• Experience building devops-oriented toolset scripts or applications 
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation, monitoring, and capacity planning
• Experience working with modern devops tools like Terraform, CircleCI, and Github Actions to help automate application delivery
• Experience working in regulated environments and how to architect for compliance
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-available service
• Experience in database administration (postgresql and RDS) is a bonus
• Positivity; non-dogmatic, team-first attitude
• Flexibility; someone who is extremely responsive and comfortable with ambiguity
• Demonstrable troubleshooting methodologies and root cause analysis
• Ability to work on-call as needed
