The Opportunity

Tasks: Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role. Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled. Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities. Independently designs scalable infrastructure, provides oversight and priority for system change - reserves execution for complex implementations, automates service delivery and maintenance tasks, provides direction and priority for monitoring and tooling activities. Independently resolves complex production issues and leads troubleshooting of end-to-end solutions that span multiple systems. Leads analysis of end-to-end system failures to identify opportunities across multiple systems. Independently experiments with new patterns and technologies. Helps establish and improve engineering best practices, concepts, and patterns. Understands the customer and independently identifies solutions and ideas for the customer and independently evaluates potential solutions. May telecommute. (20972.141).

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field followed by six (6) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered or in a computer related occupation. Position requires experience with:

  • Systems Operations environment supporting complex environment deployment and infrastructure management activities;
  • Developing, maintaining, and supporting solutions that make it easier for engineering teams to compile, deploy and test their applications;
  • Developing automated application deployments and integrations;
  • Developing plugins and scripts (Groovy and Java) that help orchestrate deployment automation;
  • Java coding for developing automated deployment solutions for engineering teams (JBOSS, WAS, and Datastage platforms);
  • Shell scripting for performing upgrade activities to enterprise source code management and deploy automation applications;
  • Developing and configuring automated continuous integration pipelines in source code management application;
  • Automation process from concept to implementation;
  • Developing monitoring and metrics dashboards in Splunk, Grafana and Datadog applications;
  • Implementing and ensuring infrastructure security; and
  • Trouble shooting and resolving of tier 3 production issues.
