Job Description

Description
In the U.S. alone, over 30 million patients per year are prescribed care via paper and fax. The ordering process is long, complicated, and yields an 83% error rate. Discharges are delayed and patients spend extra time in care facilities.
At Parachute Health, we're pioneering a modern approach to healthcare communication. We've built a platform where clinicians, insurance companies, and medical supply distributors coordinate care; empowering everyone to focus on getting patients the treatment they need, when they need it.
We are helping more than 30,000+ new patients monthly. Founded and launched in New York, we've grown across 30+ states and partnered with 4 of the top 10 ranked hospitals, 5 of the top 15 largest nursing facility chains, and 5 of the 10 largest home health agencies.
We are seeking a full-time integration engineer to join our team!
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with engineering, implementations team, and external stakeholders
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain EMR and other systems integrations with Parachute's customers using a combination of standards-based and custom data interchange formats and APIs
  • Develop internal tooling to facilitate interface development, testing, and monitoring
  • Consistently deliver quality code that supports business goals.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years working in a production environment, including some experience with interface development (HL7 2.x, FHIR, EDI X12) using an integration engine such as NextGen (Mirth) Connect, Cloverleaf, Ensemble, etc.
  • Proficient in a major scripting or object-oriented language (Javascript, Ruby, Java, Python, etc.)
  • A desire to do more than just interface development but many of the things surrounding it, such as integration with the core platform, internal tooling, system monitoring, and product feature development.

Nice to have:
  • Proficiency in multiple languages (Javascript, Ruby, Java, Python, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, etc).
  • Experience as developer on projects working with UX/UI design and/or product management.
  • Familiarity with a modern javascript framework (React, Angular, Ember, etc).
  • Live in continental United States.

Benefits
  • Work alongside an experienced, mission-oriented team (including alumni from Epic, J2 Interactive, ThoughtWorks, Pivotal Labs, Plated, Frog, Tumblr)
  • Great compensation and benefits package including fully-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Fully remote company with a tech stipend (with option to return to NYC office part-time or full-time post-pandemic)
  • Flexible vacation policy
  • Summer Fridays

We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. We are proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
