YOUR MISSION

You will be a key member of our investment team at GVW Investments. Working with an existing two-person team; one who is focused on managing investments and one who is focused on management and administration of tax and family estate matters, you will provide diversified day-to-day full-scale accounting, reporting and auditing to GVW Group Chairman and other key stakeholders. You will also occasionally participate in accounting matters for our growing Real Estate company, which is completing various transactions and acquisitions, and hiring due to GVW Group's overall portfolio growth. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform full accounting, reconciliation, reporting, analysis and audit functions for our investment group's balance sheets, income statement accounts, and interfund budgets

Generate, manage and reconcile all bank and brokerage accounts

Reconcile and analyze all balance sheets, income statement accounts and general ledger entries

Create a financial reporting system that meets GAAP standards and can be reported out on a schedule or ad-hoc basis

Prepare monthly and ad-hoc financial statements and reports for GVW Group Chairman and Key Stakeholders

Confirm checks & balances compliance across entire investment portfolio

Assist in identifying, implementing, and maintaining technology forward investment reporting software

Assist with all tax related activities, including estimating quarterly payments, preparing workpapers for external accounting firm, tracking and reconciling 1099s, K-1s etc.

Additional contributions to the Real Estate team may be assigned

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 10 years' plus progressive investment accounting experience in a regulated investment or hedge fund environment, time spent in audit in one of these environments is a plus
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
• Knowledge of accounting, investment tax and principles, including alternative investment strategies.
• Disciplined and organized with a consistently strong work ethic
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deal with complexity in a fast moving, intense environment
• Logical, analytical problem-solver, self-directed and focused on execution and outcomes
• Discretion and impeccable ethics a must
• Knowledge of Quickbooks software, Addepar, Yardi, Word, Excel
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statements
• Extremely detail-oriented with project and time management skills
• Capability to succeed and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• CPA a plus

Where will you work? This role is based at GVW Group's new headquarters in Miami, FL or at offices in Birmingham, Alabama
