What you will work on

As a Business Systems Analyst (Agile/Scrum) you will help define and deliver solutions that meet business objectives and will serve as a facilitator between the business and IT in understanding the business's needs.

You will work with the business to understand requirements, but also to understand the end to end system capabilities to be able to properly guide the development team members to achieve the desired outcomes.

We are looking for business solution analysts that understand the details of how a system works, and can be configured to more effectively. This knowledge will allow the Senior BSA to be able to guide requirements and drive issue resolution.

Core Job Responsibilities

Agile Practice & Team Role

• Work in continuous delivery mode, analyzing and delivering features iteratively
• Consistently demonstrate Agile processes and principles for effective delivery
• Consistently demonstrate Lean principles for efficient delivery

Requirement Elicitation & User Story Management

• Work with the Product Owners and Project Managers on defining the project's detailed scope
• Responsible for creating, refining and maintaining user stories and associated deliverables such as process flows and test cases to meet development and stakeholder needs
• Responsible for translating legacy system code into requirements
• Work with the Product Owner on the prioritization of the product backlog of user stories
• Work with the Product Owner, BAs, and Quality Assurance Analysts on defining acceptance criteria sufficiently for testing
• Work with the Product Owner to confirm the delivered solution is in fulfillment of the stated requirements
• Default point of contact for IT with the business; brokers contracts between IT and the business, and resolves client and IT relationship issues
• Elicits and communicates the organization's business strategy, works directly with business unit clients to understand specific business processes and needs and opportunities for improvement
• Develops IT strategies that meet the needs of the business. Identifies the business benefit of alternative strategies
• Manages and provides expert advice on the selection, design, justification, implementation and business use of information systems to enable digital transformation
• Analyzes business processes, elicits, analyzes and documents business requirements; identifies alternative solutions, assesses feasibility and makes recommendations typically seeking to exploit and leverage new or existing IT components
• Translates business requirements into functional requirements, performs data and process modeling, manages change and leads the verification and validation of requirements
• Identifies current and emerging business needs and evaluates alternative IT solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices
• Proactively seek out strategic business opportunities with business unit executives for the application of new or existing IT capabilities
• Prepares testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete
• Support adherence to Software Life Cycle
• Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts.
• Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organization's use of information.
• Act as proxy product owner to define business needs in Jira including definition of requirements using Gherkin or equivalent syntax.
• Work with the development teams to ensure that the business outcome required is properly understood, negotiating tradeoffs that may be required.
• Work with the testing teams to be able to help issue resolution and understand recurring themes that need to be added as requirement into continuous improvement cycles.
• Solid understanding of and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools:
  • Agile Project Management tools such as Jira or equivalent
  • Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools

Education/ Experience

• Bachelors Degree
• Minimum 5 years' experience with business analysis and business process mapping in a hybrid and/or Agile development environment for digital and e-commerce solutions
• Preferred 3 years' hands on experience using / configuring Digital and e-Commerce solutions such as Adobe Experience Manager or other web content management systems,
• Experience using CIAM solutions such as Auth0, Okta or MS B2C, Consent solutions such as OneTrust or TrustArc is a plus.
• Experience working within a PCI / regulated environment preferred
• Experience handling data privacy requirements such as CCPA or country specific privacy requirements highly desired.
• Experience with Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Continuous Delivery, Automated Testing
• Expertise with JIRA, Confluence, and the rest of the Atlassian suite and using JIRA's Agile performance metrics to drive accountability and continuous improvement
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
• Detail oriented with a proven ability to self-motivate and follow-through on tasks
• Strong problem solving, analysis and communication skills , both verbal and written
