General Summary
The IT Infrastructure Engineer has the primary responsibility for ensuring the stable delivery and operation of the region's information technology (IT) infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network and server infrastructures, data communications, and telecommunications systems.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Participates in systems design and planning activities.
- Monitors system resource utilization to project capacity requirements.
- Recommends enhancements to meet current and future system demands.
- Manages the configuration, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripherals, and Office Automation equipment.
- Works within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval, and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Benchmarks, analyzes, reports, and offers recommendations for improving all IT infrastructures and systems.
- Liaises with vendors, IT staff, and end users to provide timely problem resolution.
- Manages the financial aspects of IT projects, including purchasing and budgeting.
- Develops business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
- Implements and ensures compliance to all IT policies and procedures, including those for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and service provisions.
- Leads and participates in local, regional, and global project teams.
- Handles asset management for all IT hardware and software.
Miscellaneous Job Responsibilities
- Stays current with the latest Computer Science/IT technologies.
- Develops Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Performs other job-related responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Information Systems.
- Three+ years of related work experience including IT infrastructure planning and development.
- Strong technical knowledge of Cisco Networking, LAN/WAN, wireless, VOIP telecom, advanced firewall, and network security technologies.
- Extensive experience working with Windows and Linux servers including server virtualization and replication.
- In-depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
- Strong understanding of project management principles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Proven ability to research IT issues and products.
- Ability to present ideas in a business and user-friendly approach.
- High level of self-motivation with strong attention to detail.
- Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
- Strong customer-service orientation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
- Cisco Certified Voice Professional (CCVP).
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE).
- VM Ware Certified Professional (VCP).
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- Cisco Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
- Project Management Professional (PMP).
Travel
Occasional travel, approximately once a quarter.
