IT Network Senior Specialist

By synthesizing DNA on silicon instead of on traditional 96-well plastic plates, our platform overcomes the current inefficiencies of synthetic DNA production, and enables cost-effective, rapid, high-quality and high throughput synthetic gene production. POSITION SUMMARY

As the IT Senior Specialist at Twist, you will be supporting innovative technologies and fast-moving business and Research & Development (R&D) teams. You should be experienced in managing small to mid-sized projects to deliver new technologies and software products. In addition, you will be supporting the critical technologies and instruments in Twist's innovative laboratories and manufacturing pipelines and providing second-level (L2) expert assistance to the Helpdesk. You should have strong technical acumen with an eagerness and curiosity to pick up new technologies and products with ease.

Throughout these duties you will be fluent in operating under and maintaining the policies, procedures, and standards Twist operates under in order to maintain its ISO certification in Information Security. Importantly you will have an understanding of the key role information security plays in Twist's technical environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide network administration support for local and global networks including switches, firewalls, and cloud network issues.
• Be the networking lead on small to medium-sized projects that implement technologies and tools that drive greater productivity and efficiencies for Twist.
• Install, operate, configure, optimize, and maintain the Cisco Identify Services (ISE) tool for the enterprise as required in the changing LAN network across the sites.
• Provide network engineering expertise to deploy Cisco ISE network access control features
• Conferring with network users on solving issues with current networks.
• Identify and define business and technical requirements for the implementation and support of the network both LAN and WAN.
• Configuring firewalls, routing, and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
• Intermediary network configurations include switch configuration, Access Points, Fire Walls, VLANs, and network cabling.
• Windows Administration (servers, virtual, workstations), Storage is preferred.
• Evaluate the adoption of new or enhanced processes and technologies to deliver IT services.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams like Managed service, Vendors.
• Follow Standard operating procedures and processes

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

• Minimun of 8+ years of Network and systems administration experience
• Good communication skills both verbal and written.
• Broad deep network administration skills on Cisco Switches, Meraki, and Palo Alto firewall experience required
• Expertise of network related hardware switches, firewalls, routers, WAPs
• Expert technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches (layer 2/3), firewalls, remote access, DNS, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLAN, QoS, SD-WAN.
• A broad understanding of cloud networking concepts (VPC, security groups, CDN, DNS, Load balance), and WAN topologies is preferred
• Proficient in 802.1x
• Deep understanding of networking concepts ( Tiered architecture, TAP, Network Topology, OSI Layers)
• Windows Administration (server, virtual, workstation) preferred

• Working knowledge of SSO, AD
• Highly proficient in creating detailed documentation and excellent training skills
• Experience working in an ISO 27001 compliant environment or an ITIL/SOX/SOC compliant environment preferred
• Experience supporting biotech/pharma labs and lab networks.
• CCNA preferred
• Experience working with VMWare 6.0+ (optional)
• SME for MS Window 10 Professional (optional)
• MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional) (optional)
• ACSP (Apple Certified Support Professional) (optional)
• Biotech or pharma industry experience a plus

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
