As our IT Project Manager, you will...

Be Accountable and Responsible:

For helping us manage the various projects in IT that improve our user's experience, we are now looking for an experienced IT Project Manager.  You will be responsible for revamping the current IT project management structure and managing the larger projects within the team.

Reporting to the VP, IT Leader, and Associate Director, Desktop Support, this position will be responsible for project managing the IT team, who are executing the daily requirements of the systems that users interact with every day. Responsibilities also include supporting the desktop support team, which supports agency personnel.  This would be a Tier 2 position, bringing higher level support to the Tier 1 IT Support Specialists.  The position’s goals are to ensure technology projects are within the limits of budget, time, and specifications of the IT team, as well as the day-to-day tech support our users need to keep working efficiently.

  • Analyze current IT project management processes and applications
  • Working with the VP, IT Leader, develop and implement a comprehensive IT project management practice area within the IT team
  • Train the IT team on project management best practices and procedures
  • Lead a cross-functional IT team to achieve project requirements, deadlines, and schedules
  • Manage multiple projects across different practice areas within the IT Team to maximize resource utilization
  • Help the IT Team identify and resolve project issues
  • Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development of documentation to enable implementation, ongoing support, and training
  • Help maintain the IT Wiki and IT Platforms Google site
  • Conduct post-project evaluation
  • Provide support and guidance to the Tier 1 Support Team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues as needed
  • Provide technical support for Windows OS and Mac OS
  • Assist domain users in solving IT problems using available hardware and software tools

Essential Skills, Experience, and Educational Requirements:

  • 5+ years in the Information Technology industry as a Project Manager
  • 5+ years experience in Mac and Windows Desktop Technical Support
  • Experience using Google Workspace, Slack, and Asana to manage workflow
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of information technology procedures and practices.
  • Ability to motivate groups of people to complete a project in a timely manner.
  • PMP, or other project management certification, preferred
  • Any Windows OS certifications are a plus
  • Any Apple or Mac OS certifications are a plus
  • An IT certification such as CompTIA is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred; or equivalent work experience
