Morgan Mansart Management Limited ("Mansart") is a boutique asset management company within the JP Morgan group responsible for creating specialised derivative based fund solutions in the rapidly growing area of rules-based investment strategies. The team works closely with trading/portfolio management, structuring, risk management and other business functions across multi-asset classes to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
Job Summary:
As an Associate or Vice President within J.P. Morgan Mansart Management Limited, you will be part of Internal Control team where you will be working on implementing appropriate infrastructure around the governance of mandates managed within UCITS, AIFMD, MIFID and other regulatory frameworks as well as ensuring compliance with firmwide and frameworks and standards. You would join an already existing team and work on building and enhancing the current governance framework to adapt to continuous evolution. You will get a chance to utilize your knowledge of funds and relevant regulation, your ability to effective process oversight and controls, senior management and regulatory reporting skills as well as effective communication to analytical problem solving and teamwork.

Job Responsibilities:
- Implementing and monitoring investment restrictions and guidelines; report breaches and maintain records.
- Monitoring global exposure, liquidity, market, credit risk, validation of VaR (value at risk) models and other risk metrics.
- Overseeing daily tasks and processes and investigating escalation alerts from portfolio managers, middle office, compliance.
- Designing and performing risk based ongoing monitoring, agreeing mitigating controls and escalating risks.
- Assessing new products initiatives, and changes, and their impact on Mansart internal controls and supervisory requirements.
- Working with the teams to design, assess and review appropriate governance, processes, policies, and procedures, and keeping them up to date.
- Ensuring compliance with ongoing regulatory reporting and work with wider team to advise on and implement regulatory change.
- Assist with the preparation of management information for committees and management meetings.
- Conduct due diligence and maintain oversight on external service providers and outsourced functions.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- You have a detailed understanding of UCITS (undertaking for collective investment in transferable securities) fund rules and risk management requirements under UCITS and AIFMD (alternative investment fund managers directive).
- Relevant experience in investment risk, portfolio management oversight or trade compliance monitoring in asset management is crucial to the role
- You will be expected to be able to manage relationships with the businesses at all levels, including senior management.
- Able to work independently and having sufficient experience to know when to escalate an issue is essential.
- Being proactive, able to think critically about the information presented to them, comfortable with subjective situations, and ready to ask appropriate questions and effectively challenge where needed.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of funds and/or management company activities including UCITS, AIFMD and MIFID regulations, is preferred.
- Some experience working in audit, compliance, risk, or control management for an asset management company would be an advantage
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent).
