Overview

The issues to be resolved are often difficult to define and quantify; may involve complex, traditionally competing interests; are often characterized by senior leadership interest and visibility, and require extensive probing and analysis. 

Project Overview 

In an effort to continue their commitment of providing equal access to Veteran care, our client is looking to address health disparities among transgender and gender-diverse Veterans within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). With a focus on both the customer experience (CX) and the employee experience (EX) related to LGBTQ+ services within VA, Technical Assent is supporting this effort through program analysis for sustainability and external communications for resource awareness. 

Project Role  

Responsible for: 

  • Assisting project managers to monitor and track project status including scope, cost, schedule, quality, risks, issues and decisions  
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite of applications including MS Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point for development of IMS 
  • Be responsible for tracking schedules and knowing at any given time the status of program schedule for which they are responsible 
  • Assisting in the development of project artifacts that contribute to project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closeout. These may include budgets, schedules, technical documents, and project plan components
  • Assessing the operational status of the program through the gathering of data/information used to plan, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of the program on an ongoing basis
  • Supporting the documentation of project and program processes and ensures activities follow processes, escalating issues and concerns when deviation occurs
  • Developing status reports by coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders and producing summary reports
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, and producing agendas and meeting minutes as needed
  • Coordinating logistical elements of events, both virtual and in-person 
  • Finding solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and innovation alongside teammates
  • Developing a deep understanding of what the client is trying to accomplish and create strategies to solve multiple dimensions of a business problem
  • Creation of client-ready deliverables with oversight including insights reports, toolkits, resources, and other project related client facing content
  • Scheduling, participating in, and taking notes in client facing meetings with key stakeholders and project executives

  • Develops deeper practical expertise in project Capability Areas 
  • Participates in and applies Technical Assent’s consulting approaches and methods
  • Shares knowledge with internal and external peers through writing and speaking 3-5 times per year
  • Contributes to Organizational Capability Areas by building reusable process assets, templates, and tools that improve the consistency of our services
  • Supports business development by playing an active role in researching customer needs, competitive environment, and actively supporting proposal efforts 
  • Recognizes opportunities and helps define customer solutions

Travel 
  • Remote with up to 15% of travel 
Minimum Qualifications 
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience  
  • Experience working with an integrated management system (IMS) 
  • Curious, problem solving, and open-minded approach to work 
  • Thrive in a continuous Build-Measure-Learn cycle
  • Engage with technology with comfort and ease (Power Point, Word, Excel, Projects, Teams, Monday, Slack, Mural, etc.) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance 
Preferred Qualifications 
  • Experience working with the VA 
  • Experience using facilitation tools like MURAL  
  • Resides in the DMV area (Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia) 
  • Project Management certification (PMI) 
  • Experience with AGILE methodology
