We are looking for a skilled engineer to lead our backend team, building reliable, performant, and scalable systems. You will be responsible for creating innovative technical strategies and leading the backend team to execute effectively on time. We'd love to speak with you if you have a solid background in developing platforms for cloud-native enterprise solutions!

After your first year, you will:

• Lead the backend team to plan and execute various projects on time and within budget

• Design and implement improvements towards a scalable and reliable backend service-oriented architecture

• Engage with the production engineering team to migrate towards a fully automated cloud infrastructure

• Act as a mentor to fellow developers, sharing knowledge and contributing to the team’s continuous improvement and growth

• In collaboration with the product team, lead the backend team technology strategy and execution

• Provide architecture and technical leadership, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to improve backend services continuously

• Evaluate and evolve engineering process for the team

• Design, code, and troubleshoot new features while debugging as necessary

• Work closely with other engineering teams to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic

• Write clean code to develop functional backend applications

• Manage tools and processes for handling analytics data and metrics that measure and evaluate the quality of services deployed

• Work with the production engineering team to deliver scalable and reliable backend services

• Provide the architecture migration roadmap and execution plan to scale Zello’s backend infrastructure

• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience

• At least ten years of working experience as a software engineer with 3-5 years of experience as a lead

• Ample knowledge and experience in cloud-native architecture design and implementation

• Extensive experience in C++, Go, MySQL, and Linux. Experiences in NodeJS, Python, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch are a big plus

• Experience in backend API, object-oriented design, TCP/UDP, and microservices

• Strong project management and team leadership skills
