Job Summary
The Lead Business Systems Analyst will lead requirement solution sessions with business subject matter experts to analyze and validate processes and assumptions, and collaborate with developers on solutions. This role will also lead BSAs on the team. Growing delivery process, system knowledge and business process knowledge to deliver business solutions. This person will collaborate with the product owner and IT owner to plan upcoming work and releases. The Lead will also work with the vendor on solutioning and planning as well.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide solutions for IT and business by the application of technology to business opportunities, planning and implementation of cross-functional applications.
- Lead/facilitate business requirements gathering and determine potential technical impact
- Conduct meetings with project stakeholders in the elicitation and documentation and the prioritization of requirements, leveraging various techniques
- Lead requirements and/or data solution sessions with business subject matter experts to analyze, validate, and utilize data for consumption by business stakeholders
- Manage the change of requirements for complex or multi-threaded projects throughout the project lifecycle using company requirements management frameworks and ensures standards are met
- Provide clarification of requirements to developers and project team members
- Function as a subject matter expert in supporting applications, interfaces and products used by the business
- Provide input into the maturation of the requirements management process, tools, and practices and recommend changes to improve business processes systems support
- Conduct unit and system testing as required
- Coordinates development of test strategies and plans with QA testers and business users
- Identify, develop and deliver training needed for implementation and ongoing knowledge needs
- Lead team through complex projects, accountable for delivery
- Lead, support and interact with various IT teams and LOBs on integration efforts
- Translate business problems, objectives, and goals into functional solutions
- Manage Agile projects and/or Kanban boards
- Mentor and coach other BSAs and team members
- Delegate work to team members on an informal basis
Experience and Education Requirements
- 8-9 years of experience in Solutions Analysis or Business Systems Analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or similar or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proficient using Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Knowledge of the PMI’s Project Management Book of Knowledge, and Agile and Kanban methodologies
- Proficient in writing and grooming user stories in Agile environment
- Proficient in requirements gathering methodologies and the SDLC
- Experience with business requirements and business process analysis to ensure IT solutions meet the business's needs
- Understanding of APIs
- Experience conducting interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, job shadowing workflow storyboards, use cases, and current to future state gap analysis
- Experience using process models, specifications, diagrams and charts
Preferred Requirements
- Experience in the role of Product Owner, Agile Coach, or ScrumMaster
- Experience working in an Agile or Kanban environment
- CBAP, aCAP, or CAP certification
- Prior leadership experience
