As a Lead Content Designer at Upwork, you’ll create clear, consistent, and compelling content that plays a pivotal role in the user experience across our platform. You’ll design UX content for our SaaS product, think in terms of flows and interactions, and ensure that language functions as a system that embodies our brand while adapting to meet users where they are.   • Write clear, user-friendly product copy that simplifies complex ideas and flows.
  • Identify information architecture (IA) issues and recommend improvements.
  • Act as a catalyst for vision work across Upwork’s core product experiences, embedding with key initiatives and influencing others.
  • Support teams in launching new features, ensuring seamless integration into existing product flows, including AI-powered capabilities.
  • Contribute insights to inform product strategy, aligning short-term and long-term business goals.
  • Design scalable content and champion continuous improvement of content standards through a design system.
  • Collaborate with and support teammates in iterating and improving content quality.
  • Apply UX research and data to inform content decisions.
  • Manage content backlogs, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Present work for feedback and revise based on input.

The annual base salary range for this position  is displayed below. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salary for this position, and individual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for the annual bonus plan or sales incentive plan and eligibility to participate in our long term equity incentive program.

Annual Base Compensation
$122,500—$165,500 USD
