The Analysis and Decisions Systems (ADS) Group in the Analytics Division works to help humans make the best decisions possible. We build solutions that make a difference in mission planning, autonomous systems reasoning, and more.
The Role:
As a Lead Devops Engineer, you will work as part of tightly knit Agile software teams to design and implement Continuous integration/ continuous development (CI/CD) pipelines utilizing GitLab or other CI/CD systems. This includes:

• Supporting Amazon Web Services (AWS) toolsets in an unclassified environment;
• Maintaining multiple CI/CD environments at multiple classification levels where AWS is not available;
• Configuring CI/CD environments for application performance, security monitoring, and alerting.
• Acting as a point person with the corporate IT organization to ensure that infrastructure toolsets are configured, maintained, reliable, and in compliance with Department of Defense standards.
• Advocating for and educating engineers on DevOps fundamentals while helping to implement solid software development processes.

This role will take advantage of STR's flexible, hybrid environment - when the work does not require use of STR's facilities, you are welcome to work remotely. Currently, we anticipate that you could work remotely as much as 60% of the time.
Who You Are:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
• Experience with all relevant technologies including:
  • CI/CD tools (Gitlab) and pipeline automation
  • Cloud platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and automated provisioning tools (such as Ansible, Chef, TerraForm)
  • Containerization technologies such as Docker and Podman
  • Kubernetes management solutions such as EKS and Rancher

• Experience deploying, and monitoring Kubernetes clusters and pod configurations
• Organized, detail-oriented, and with an ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Demonstrated experience as an effective communicator to both technical and non-technical audiences
• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance

Even Better:

• Active Security Clearance at the Secret or Top Secret (TS) level
• MS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field
• Experience in:
  • Full web-service stack, including databases, logging, and monitoring
  • Project tracking tools such as Jira
  • Designing, deploying, and monitoring Kafka clusters
  • Deploying and maintaining artifact repositories (such as Nexus, Artifactory)
  • Deploying and configuring static and dynamic code analysis tools (such as SonarQube, Coverity).
  • Leading teams in an Agile/SCRUM software development process
