The Role:

We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer (Kubernetes) this role will require strong Kubernetes and Observability experience to join our growing team. Within Centene our team implements and owns end-to-end availability, reliability and performance of the shared Kubernetes platform environment. You will proactively work to build better visibility into our critical infrastructure systems, identify recurring problems and build tools and processes to prevent problems from recurring as well as implement new technologies to ensure a high level of platform service quality is delivered to our members.

Position Purpose:

Uses advanced experience to lead more complex projects from end-to-end that are focused on managing and maintaining optimum platform infrastructure performance, reliability, and security using SRE practices, observability tools, manual and automated procedures, documentation, people and processes and continuous delivery(CI/CD) tools, processes, and designs. Leads the development and delivery of complex services to automate monitoring activities and provide critical information to facilitate response and resolution of performance and availability issues and incidents. Leads the delivery of standardized and scalable software tools to ensure that systems operate without interruption at optimum performance and leads project teams through out the deployment process. Troubleshoots and analyzes service disruptions to determine the root cause of issues and develop solutions for improved reliability.

Additionally you will bring:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, Engineering or related field or equivalent experience. 6+ years of experience in the AWS, SRE, and Kubernetes field or in a related area. Experience with software engineering, enterprise operations support, object oriented programming, automation, consulting with internal customers, cloud based enterprise-grade cloud systems management and full stack engineering.

Technical Skills:

Experience with Linux Operating System; Operating Systems; Unix Operating System; Windows Operating System required

Experience with Other: Experience with observability/monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Elastic, New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana required

Experience with Other: enterprise level CICD Tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Cloudbees, OpenShift required

Experience with Other: working in public cloud platforms like AWS and Azure required

Experience with Programming Tools required

Experience with Other: building and operating highly scaled applications required

Experience with MongoDB; MySQL; Oracle Database Management System (DBMS); PL SQL; SQL (Programming Language) required

Experience with Other: varying code repositories, auto deployments, branching with tools such as Gitlab, Bitbucket, Subversion required

Experience with Other: IT service management tools such as Service Now, Atlassian, BMC required

Soft Skills:
