Job Overview 

Mitratech is hiring a Lead Software Engineer to guide the Circa product team of highly motivated developers focused on rebuilding some of the core features that help our customers maintain OFCCP compliance and build diverse workforces. We utilize modern technologies and are passionate about continuous improvement, collaborative teamwork, and agile delivery.

About You

You are a natural facilitator. You care about the process behind software development and enjoy helping a team operate efficiently. You’re passionate about building software and have at least one year of experience leading a team. You’re a strong communicator, both technically and non-technically, including high proficiency or fluency in English - written and verbal. You enjoy mentoring others and guiding them along their careers.

You may have a degree, certificate or bootcamp in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education and experience. You’ve got 6 or more years of experience with a focus on web applications, web services, and backend processes. You’ve built new technology and know the ropes in supporting existing tech. You’ve delivered projects to multiple stakeholders as a senior team member.

About the Position

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll first and foremost you’ll be coding, pair-programming, and participating in code reviews regularly. You will guide a team of developers to overcome challenges, mitigate risks, navigate bugs, and make technical decisions. You’ll motivate and hold accountable your team members through a regular review process, mentorship, and coaching. You’ll challenge the team to discover innovative ways to re-solution old problems with new technologies, new designs and paradigms, or updated requirements based on new learnings. You will work with product managers, business stakeholders, and technology leadership to maintain a smooth and well-communicated workstream.

Day in the Life

Most days will involve:

• A team standup to discuss projects and roadblocks
• Collaboration with other members of the Tech Leadership Team and business stakeholders
• Guiding members of your team through roadblocks and removing team impediments to keep your team executing and delivering high-quality solutions

Weekly activities may include:

• Participating in team demos, sprint planning, and retrospectives
• Offering input and guidance in team design sessions
• Helping the team examine how it’s working and how its processes could be improved
• Holding one on one meetings with your team members to build relationships and support their continued growth and development

On a more monthly basis:

• Attending and presenting at cross functional team showcases
• Developing, sharing, and promoting technical and process-oriented best practices with the entire App Dev organization
• Working with other business units as needed
