Scope and Responsibilities:
As a Lead Software Engineer joining the Nike.com team, you will bring a passion for creating and delivering highly engaging, high-quality applications with the potential to reach millions of consumers through the Nike brand. You will join a team of other engineers and project managers to develop, release and grow the Nike.com website. Our team is responsible for multiple aspects on and within the Nike.com site.

As the Lead Software Engineer, your role will include working as a Technical Lead on a scrum team of 4-5 developers responsible for designing and developing services and resources for Nike's e-commerce experiences in a continuous delivery model. You will provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members and work with stakeholders outside the team.

What we're looking for:
  • Experience working in a distributed Cloud-based environment with AWS technologies such as S3, ECS, EC2, Lambda, ALB, Route53, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Prior experience in designing and implementing highly scalable web-based eCommerce applications
  • Excellent knowledge of JavaScript(ES6) and Node.js
  • Experience with CDN, Caching technologies
  • DevOps mentality with CD/CI and following code through production operation and solving issues during and following releases
  • A track record of solving problems and getting things done in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment
  • Ability to delegate work and mentor the development team and hold team members accountable to quality standards, ensuring that the needs of the business are met, and a high-quality user experience is delivered.
  • Experience providing technical leadership to a team of developers including providing daily guidance, setting coding standards, and reviewing code required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with business and technical teammates
  • Present sophisticated ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others to consider your point of view
  • Ability to build and implement practical and simple solutions
  • A attitude with compassion and understanding and collaborate with others
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Systems, or similar field or relevant professional experience, education, and training

Open to remote work, except cannot work in South Dakota, Vermont, and West Virginia. These candidates will be required to relocate.

For employees based in Colorado, this position starts at $145,000.00 per year. Information about benefits can be found here .
