Job Description Summary
As a Lead UX Designer at Transamerica you will be a part of the Workplace Digital Experience team focused on transforming our digital products to ensure consistency and client satisfaction. You will help improve the visual design and usability of an extensive portfolio of core and new digital products.
Your work as a Lead UX Designer touches the end-to-end journey of a user's interaction with Transamerica. Success in this role is dependent on your ability to engage with business partners, advocate for end-users, and execute on our design principles.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Work effectively and independently with technology, marketing, subject matter experts, and business operations to establish practices for designing positive end-to-end experiences at all user touch points.
- Oversee user experience process and integration; Create and facilitate an environment, process and design system that supports consistent UX principles and processes across devices and channels and measurably enhance productivity and product quality.
- Lead UX discovery work and related workshops across multiple products and provide recommendations for UX strategy and solutions.
- Inform product teams and business stakeholders of potential user experience pain points and risks.
- Lead the development of personas, user flows and scenarios, goal/task analyses, and other key tools of user-centered design.
- Manage the team's activities of analysis and process design to create high-quality solutions that provide great experiences.
- Show desire to iterate on design, while having the ability to finish a project on time.
- Gather and interpret stakeholder feedback to shape design solutions that meet both business and consumer needs.
- Create visual artifacts to articulate, inform and validate ideas (journey maps, personas, etc.).
- Collaborate with UX Researchers and conduct basic research work as needed (develop surveys, moderate research testing, research synthesis, etc.).
- Lead the design efforts of internal and external UX supporting roles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Eight years of experience in the digital space
- Thorough knowledge of user centered design and digital technologies relevant to assigned focus area
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills engage and influence partners and stakeholders
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to handle complex assignments
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in current UX design methodologies and best practices with experience in UI prototyping, design standards and data visualization.
- Strong knowledge of general user experience practices, including usability principles, UX writing, UX research, workshop facilitation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Base knowledge of coding (CSS and HTML5), web accessibility, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with core UX tools, including Miro or similar collaboration tools, Figma or other best in class design tools, and Microsoft Teams.
- Effective written and communication skills.
- Strong team player with a focus on collaboration across the organization.
- Relevant degree such as bachelor's degree in Design, Interaction Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or User Experience.
- A minimum of eight years of experience as user experience designer, web designer, visual designer, information architect, interaction designer, program manager, or similar.
- A minimum two years of experience leading large-scale projects.
- Record/portfolio in user-centered design processes, information architecture, user personas, wireframes, flows, samples of recent web and mobile related work, etc.
- Experience of using iterative prototyping and user testing to inform and refine interaction designs
- Experience of implementing brand guidelines.

- Able to work in a team environment. Proficient personal computer skills including mainframes, PC's and networks.

The salary for this position generally ranges between $102,900 - $135,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus of 15% based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company's discretion.
