Legal and Compliance Manager

Within a newly established joint Legal & Compliance function we are announcing opening for Legal and Compliance Manager position. The mission of the role - manage overall legal requirements of business by providing legal advice and guidance, as well as manage compliance with legal requirements.

Major accountabilities:

• Act as a Business partner in all activities relating to the Company’s contractual negotiations and statutory obligations,

• Ensure legal foundation for successful day-to-day business operations through availability to requests from the business with relevant, practical and to-the-point legal input,

• Raise awareness of legal issues arising from purchasing, procurement, contracting, etc. and ensure early legal involvement to protect Sandoz' legal position,

• Regular check of the changes in legal environment and update of relevant managers,

• Reviewing and drafting all types of contracts (including acquisition contracts), in order to ensure compliance with both local laws and regulations and Group standards,

• Ensure Sandoz' interest in confidential matters are protected through documented agreements e.g. in procurement, consultancy, service agreements,

• Providing legal analyses and evaluating proposals and other situations that may have legal impact (incl. finance/tax impact),

• Providing proactive legal services; supporting and advising all business functions in case of any disputes and disagreements, on litigations, on matters involving controls of state authorities, etc.

• Coordinate potential litigations of the company, to enforce, protect and, or defend certain legal rights,

• Constant observance of relevant statutory environment and changes therein and reviewing and drafting statutory and other corporate law documents for ensuring legislative compliance of the company and corporate structure,

• Ensuring compliance with legislation and Sandoz Policies and Standards. Support with reviewing, developing and implementing relevant policies/procedures, as well as adapting existing guidelines to local activities and day-to-day operations,

• Support the Legal & Compliance Head and Compliance Manager in the implementation and operational excellence of the local Compliance program.

Work Experience:

• Polish Law School graduate

• Minimum 5 years of experience gained within ideally a healthcare, pharmaceutical environment, and or, with a top-tier law firm representing healthcare & technology clients

• Fluency in English and Polish will be essential

• Experience in managing Legal & Compliance work and projects

• Strong verbal & written communication skills; together with a high ability to influence and negotiate.

• Demonstrate professional & culturally sensitive work ethics.
