We are looking for a solutions-oriented lawyer who understands and is passionate for contract law, specifically in capital markets. This individual is someone who takes ownership and executes with quality and timeliness alongside our ambitious and fast-moving team. Bonus points if you’ve worked at a FinTech company. 

As the Legal Manager, this team member will be responsible for the day-to-day tactical legal initiatives across dv01 with the ability to learn and contribute to strategy. In addition to the technical requirements, this team member must have great interpersonal skills, be a self-starter, and timeliness around deliverables. The Legal Manager will report to the COO.

• Commercial Contracting - The day to day will include reviewing and negotiating customer and vendor agreements. Work closely with the Sales and the Account Management team to streamline the contracting process and sales cycle.  
• Transaction – Work closely with outside Fitch counsel on a variety of legal transactions mainly securitization deals and include regulatory & compliance, data strategy & management, and product counseling. Work may include working with senior leaders across dv01 and Fitch counsel on maintaining data protection procedures and compliance. Update or develop, where necessary as they related to legal matters, policies and procedures and team educational programs. On data, offer perspective from a strategic data framework aligned with the dv01 product roadmap. Provide legal guidance on usage, privacy, compliance, and protection as well as negotiate strategic partnerships and commercial agreements consistent with the Company’s data strategy.  

• JD degree; member of NY state bar in good standing.
• Experience as in-house counsel or in a firm with a professional background in capital markets or fintech industry.
• Legal drafting: 3-4 years ( Preferred)
• Strong contract negotiation skills
• Comfort working autonomously
• Exceptional communication skills
• Strong problem-solving capabilities in applying legal insights to analyze issues and recommend viable solutions.
• Bonus points for strong knowledge of financial services/data regulations, compliance, securitizations and employment law. 

In good faith our salary range for this role is $165,000 - $190,000 but are not tied to it. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience, expertise, and other business considerations.
